This pursuit began after experiencing my own journey into recovery and learning how deeply addiction affected those closest to me. Now I dedicate my time and efforts to helping individuals and families overcome addiction and maintain recovery in their lives.
My approach to recovery is a practical one, using motivational interviewing to help clients identify their strengths and barriers. I will assist in connecting individuals and their families with recovery communities, support groups and other resources. My personal experience with addiction and recovery allows me to create a safe non-judgmental space where clients develop the tools to replace old coping mechanisms with new ones. My goal is to help those suffering from addiction build recovery capital, restore relationships and a sense of purpose in their lives.
I have developed the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with substance use disorders while working as an addiction counsellor at an accredited bed based treatment facility for the last seven years. This includes facilitating process groups, case management, family case management and individual counselling. I am a fully licensed and insured addictions counsellor in good standing with the C.A.C.C.F and IC&RC.

My journey to this work is deeply personal. After losing my partner to a fentanyl overdose, the love and support I received from the recovery community was positively overwhelming as my life felt like it was unravelling.
Now, my great passion is providing healing to individuals beginning their recovery. My formal education begins with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, where I gained valuable understanding providing holistic and client-centered care from infancy to older adulthood. As a Client Care support worker at Westminster House, a recovery centre for women, I developed a passion for recovery-oriented systems of care. Engaging with this transformative power to help women form healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships, I became acutely aware of its necessity to obtain long-term recovery.
